In order to address the overall objectives and the hypotheses of this project, the research is divided in four topics.
These topics will feed into each other, as well as deliver independent research results at the highest level. The topics and their interaction are shown in Figure 1.
The interplay between the experimental work (TP1-3) and the development of risk evaluation frameworks (TP4) is the hallmark of EnvNano. TP1-3 will be the largest in terms of resource allocation, activities, and student education, whereas TP4 is less resource demanding but involves highly specialized personnel (PI and a senior researcher).
The nanoparticles to be used for these experimental studies are: Gold (Au), titaniumdioxide (TiO2) and silver (Ag).
